The ranch's development centered around cattle ranching, which sustained the family for generations. Later, his son Gerardo took over management and added to this tradition a respectful approach to the environment, valuing the forests, animal welfare, and the care of the land. He maintained this vision until his death in 2016, leaving it as a legacy to his heirs.

His daughter, Alicia Haro Mardones, a social worker, tour operator, and farmer, decided to continue that commitment. In 2018, on the centenary of the family's history, she took over the management of the farm and, in homage to her father, renamed it Fundo Don Gerardo.

Alicia maintained her cattle ranching operations and incorporated purpose-driven tourism, demonstrating that both activities can coexist and strengthen each other. Her initiative has gained recognition among ranchers and tour operators in the region, using tourism as a tool for reforestation, ecosystem restoration, and environmental awareness. From Cerro Galera, in the Coyhaique commune, she connects family history, rural culture, and climate action, positioning Patagonia as a starting point for contributing to the planet's restoration.

["post-22","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
